Norman Davies Consulting
Our Company
Norman Davies Consulting was established in South Africa in 1998 and undertook planning and project management work on hotels and leisure projects.
The consultancy pioneered the use of resource level limit determination to calculate optimum construction times for construction and civil engineering projects. A simple empirical formula is applied to the controlling resource (after primary logic has been incorporated) to establish the optimum period for the work to be done. The formula can be applied to any resource based project and is the final step in the calculation process.
The method ensures that the time period thus calculated, with the appropriate level of preliminaries (the main cost of which is supervision) means that the project should be carried out right the first time on time.
The programme calculation method comprises systems to ensure that the whole scope of work is considered, an appropriate level of detail is established, resources and outputs are agreed and each activity duration is carefully calculated based on reasonable resource use. The raw data is inserted into any reliable software package and following resource levelling using best practice the programme is drafted for submission and presentation to the relevant team for adjudication and finalisation.
